In 2015 I was over 430lbs, 434lbs to be exact. I had a 56″ waist, and I wore a 5x shirt. Life was extremely difficult. My biggest decision each day was just to get out of the bed and face the day ahead of me. I was a prisoner. I missed out on so much life because I was uncomfortable, tired, in pain, embarrassed and generally lethargic.

My mother asked me to visit a seminar about weight loss surgery. I went with the attitude of “this is an option if my weight ever gets REALLY BAD.” I left in tears. A grown man in tears because I knew that “REALLY BAD” was already here. I knew then and there weight loss surgery was my solution.

Dr. Bagnato and Palmyra Surgical came highly recommend to me. I met with Dr. Bagnato and his amazing staff in early 2016. I left with a hope I hadn’t felt in years. We scheduled my surgery, and I began my sugar busters diet. I needed this pre-op diet to shrink the liver and make room for Dr. Bagnato to easily place the band. My surgery could not have gone easier. Recovery time for me was quick. I was literally back on my feet walking minutes after surgery. After taking the weekend to recover, I was back at work Monday morning with only some minor lifting restrictions. So my weight loss journey began.

Now I weigh 283 pounds. My weight loss total so far is 151 pounds from the start of my journey. What does it mean? It means I’m alive again!! I take EVERY OPPORTUNITY to LIVE each day. I spend every moment with my family and friends, and my weight never holds me back! I run now, and I go to the gym 4 days a week. I’m playing golf and softball again. I’ve got so much energy that I often run to get where I’m going. Why? BECAUSE I CAN! I comfortably wear a 2x shirt and my waist is a size 44.

Dr. Bagnato and his staff have changed my life!!! They make you feel so comfortable throughout the process. If I had to go through the surgery again tomorrow, I’d be there an hour early with a great big smile on my face. Lap Band=GAME CHANGER!
