I wish I could say that my main reason for wanting the lap band surgery was to preserve my health. Although that is one of the reasons, my main reason was to see myself as my sweet husband sees me; beautiful and sexy.
I have always been overweight. You know, the biggest one in my circle of girlfriends. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful group of girlfriends and we share a perfect week together each year in October. Several years ago, one of the ladies brought the cutest little black dress to see if any of us would like to have it. Everyone loved the dress! All the other ladies are about the same size, so they decided it would be a “traveling dress”. In addition to its first special occasion, one lady took it to Vegas then brought it back. One took it to Paris, then it came back to the circle. I enjoyed the stories of the traveling dress but never thought I could add a chapter. Until I decided to have Lap Band surgery! My surgery was in December 2017 and this past October, I fit into the dress!! Fitting into that dress was my first goal and I did it! I cannot explain the feeling that I had, and shared with my girlfriends, when I walked out of my room with the dress fitting perfectly. I am happy to say that the Traveling Dress is going with my husband and I to Grand Turks in April! By losing almost 50 pounds, I am adding that chapter!
The support, tools and education I have received from Dr. Bagnato, his staff and Georgia Bariatrics are incredible! Never have I hesitated to ask a question, make a call for reassurance or stopped by for a visit that I have not been welcomed and made to feel that I was important. Never have I regretted having weight loss surgery, not for a second, and I cannot wait to see what is in my future as I continue to work towards my next goal!
